When it comes to summertime drinking my go-to beverages are radlers.
A radler is a mix of beer and some sort of citrus juice or soda. Some say that it’s very similar to a shandys, but there is a difference. (Check out the article of radler vs. shandy)
Here are my favourite radlers:
Stiegl Grapefruit Radler (ABV 2.5%)

This beer comes from Austria by the company Stiegl Getranke.
It has real grapefruit juice that gives it a refreshing taste. The radler has a hazy lemon colour to it and tastes like grapefruit juice with a little bit of a malt finish to it.
Waterloo Grapefruit Radler (ABV 3.1%)

This Radler is created by Waterloo Brewing which is just down the 401 from Hamilton in, you guessed it, Waterloo.
Their radler blends real grapefruit juice and lager for a crisp but slightly bitter finish. This too has a slight hazy colour to it, but more gold then lemon colour.
Pump House Crafty Radler (ABV 4.7%)

This radler is created by the Pump House Brewery in Moncton, N.B. and it has won awards for their radlers.
The radler is pink in colour with tastes of grapefruit, tangerine, citrus and cereal!!! It is a little more carbonated then some of the other radlers out there.
Ace Hill Radler (ABV 2.5%)

Ace Hill Beer Company is located in Toronto, in the Summerhill neighbourhood.
In order to create their own unique radler, they mix in their popular pilsner with organic citrus juice and low alcohol. Light in colour, this radler has a malt, orange, lemon taste with a touch of peach and apricots. Only slightly carbonated.
Bud Light Lemonade Radler (ABV 2.4%)

Surprised that I added Bud Light to my list? I am too, but they do have two pretty good radlers.
The first one is the Lemonade Radler. It’s a blend of lager and lemonade, perfect for the summer. You can taste the lemonade with a hint of honey to it.
Bud Light Grapefruit Radler (ABV 2.4%)

The 2nd radler is the Grapefruit Radler. This one uses a light lager and uses grapefruit juice instead of lemonade. This too ends with a touch of honey.
Moosehead Grapefruit Radler (ABV 4%)

Moosehead is one of the oldest Canadian independent breweries around, which is located in Saint John, NB.
Moosehead’s Grapefruit Radler uses their flagship lager and 15% real juice. It is light with flavours of grapefruit juice and citrus zest with a little bit of malty sweetness.
Sweetwater Squeeze Radler (ABV 3.8%)

This radler is made by Amsterdam Brewing which is located East York in the Toronto area.
The radler is slightly hazy in a grapefruit pink colour. Although they use grapefruit juice for their radler, it does have a hint of raspberry flavor to it.
I love that so many of these are from Ontario! Great list! I’m going to try the Moosehead Radler this weekend for sure!
