Parsons Brewing Company

I just spent the most relaxing week up at my in-laws’ trailer.  It’s located just outside of Brighton, Ontario. It is something that I look forward to every year, a nice getaway from the city and some alone time.

Usually by the end of the week, my boyfriend and friends join me and the dog and we venture out to Prince Edward County for a little winery/brewery tour.

For the last couple of years one of our ‘must’ stops is Parsons Brewing Company.

(Tim, Carly, Aaron and I in 2018)

The brewery is located at 876 County Road 49, Prince Edward County.  It is absolutely adorable and a great place for everyone, including children.  They have plenty of activities for children of all sizes.

(The gang with my Aunt Neen, Uncle Paul and his mom Crystal. Unkie Paul was our DD.)

They have a delicious looking menu and they cook a lot of their stuff outdoors. (Food photos courtesy of Parsons)

(Their cute little outdoor kitchen and grilling area.)

Parsons has a pretty big beer menu but they offer flights so you can try them all.  Their menu has their staples but often offers different seasonal beers.

(That’s just the first page of the beer selection.)

Here are some of our favourite brews from Parsons. I grabbed the descriptions from their beer menu and you can check out their website for more details on all their other beers.

Grandpa Miguel’s Coffee Stout – (Flagship beer)

A smooth stout topped off with Samantha’s father’s organic coffee grown on the sloped coastline of volcanic Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Deep notes of toasty chocolate from dark malt grown in Patagonia,  Chile and an uncompromising coffee punch balanced by the citrus and herbal aromas of Cascade and Willamette hops.  (ABV: 5.6%)

Brown is the New Black Lager (Seasonal)

One of our old favourites is back in time for warmer weather. This smooth, dry, black lager features chocolate and coffee flavours for the flavour profile of a stout without the bitterness. Smooth, dark and delicious. (ABV: 5.6%)

Rum Brulee (Seasonal)

Blended barrel aged stout. Blending beers has become a passion of ours at Parsons. The culmination of multiple experiments is this blend of our Eightball Milk Stout and our Devil’s Right Hand base recipe aged in rum barrels. Mild rum spice on the nose and a warming effect that finishes with a distinct crème brûlée aftertaste. A multi-layered delectable feast for the senses. (ABV: 7.5%)

Hula Hoop. Pink Guava Luv (Seasonal)

The most crushable of our Hula Hoop Sour Series. The addition of lactose and pink guava puree provide a distinct texture to this sour designed for a sunny patio. Heavily dry-hopped with Ekuanot, adding notes of orange peel and papaya. (ABV:4.8%)

If you happen to make your way up to Prince Edward County, I would suggest that you make this stop. You won’t regret it!

Tune into my next post where I will tell you about all the other breweries out in Prince Edward County.

Till then, cheers!
